Genre conventions of horror movies
One of the conventions of a horror film is featuring specific common fears. These fears often include: Nightmares, alienation, vunrablity, death, fear of the unknown, and loss of identity. These will often be related to the main character's persona or background. A horror film often includes weapons as they have an association with death. These weapons include: knives, guns, axes, chainsaws.
